“The VP2780-4K is a perfect showcase piece for everything that is great about the onward march of modern technology.”
In order to meet professional graphic designers, video editors, and image processors’ high standard of color, ViewSonic utilizes specific color (SRGB,EBU,6500k) calibration procedures into the flow of production. Before delivering, each VP2780-4K monitor is manually examined by a professional color expert in order to confirm that its color, brightness and color temperature match with the sRGB, Native, and EBU (European Broadcasting Union) color gamut standards. In this unique and detailed Color Calibration Factory Report, three sets of color information and manufacturing results are recorded. Delta E is examined and tested to adjust the color difference and to make sure it can achieve Delta E ≤2, one of the highest color accuracy standards. The gamma curve is examined to measure and compare the brightness performance based on light and dark scenarios by observing the changes of luminance. For each VP2780-4K, the 0-256 gray-scale is adjusted to coincide with the Gamma 2.2 curve. Gray-Scale Tracking is then used to trace the status of the color temperature based on different gauges of Gray-Scale, allowing the monitor to display precise color through stable color temperature. In addition, each VP2780 is equipped with its own individual Color Calibration Factory Report which includes the complete information of the monitor and ensures a high performance of precise color.

Accurate and consistent color performance is essential for professionals in graphic design, video editing, and other professional environments. With 100% sRGB color coverage capability, the VP2780-4K reproduces 100% sRGB rich color performance and captures images in their original and true colors.
The VP2780-4K’s Uniformity Correction function compensates any luminance and color uniformity imbalance on the screen such as dark spots, uneven brightness, or illegible images on the screen. With the ViewSonic uniformity correction function, gray-scale levels are balanced, and delta E scores are improved to be ≦2. Color reproduction, accuracy, and delta E numbers will all be improved, increasing reliability and offering the highest quality viewing experience from every monitor.
* Uniformity function only works while in sRGB, EBU, SMPTE-C and REC709 color modes.
To deliver precise and accurate color performance, the independent 6-axis color adjustment function (red, green, blue, cyan, magenta and yellow) allows users to customize hue and saturation for each color axis individually, without affecting the other color outputs. In addition, the gain and offset functions allow users to control white balance for the upmost control when manipulating contrast and dark scenes.
The VP2780-4K adopts a 14-bit LUT and 3D LUT to convert image color from input signal to panel. The 14-bit LUT provides up to 4.39 trillion color palette, without reducing the signal quality while ensuring true-to-life images. In addition, the 3D LUT ensures smoother color gradations and neutral gray tones.
Delivering broadcast-quality color and stable imaging, this Ultra HD monitor features a pro-style EBU preset ideal for video production and editing. Offering five gamma settings ranging from Gamma 1.8 to Gamma 2.6 (From 1.8, 2.0, 2.2, 2.4 to 2.6), this monitor optimizes color performance and contrast ratio for graphic design, video editing, photography production, and more.
Future-proof HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2a video standards support 3840x2160 resolution at a quick 60Hz frame rate—guaranteeing jitter-free multimedia, smooth screen performance, and true Ultra HD picture clarity.

“The ViewSonic VP2780-4K ($889.99) is a moderately priced 27-inch monitor with an impressive feature set including 10-bit color technology, multiple input connections, and an In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel with a 3,840-by-2,160 Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) resolution.”
“With a superior color accuracy and performance specs that were put together specifically for optimized content creation, graphic design or print uses, the VP2780 has plenty to offer a professional right out of the box.”
“Now that HDMI 2.0 compatible video cards are out, PC monitors with 4K resolutions can finally begin catching up to the same pace thanks to ViewSonic’s innovation.”
“If you can purchase a monitor with 4K resolution (3840x2160 pixels), do it. You are future-proofing yourself for more precise photo and video editing, and every document will look stunningly crisp. This Viewsonic 27-inch model is bright, colorful, and connects using an HDMI cable.”
“The first, the VP2780-4K, is aimed squarely at professionals who need color accuracy for work. It’s a 27-inch IPS panel with 3840x2160 resolution at 60Hz. ViewSonic loaded up the monitor with two HDMI 1.4 ports, a full size DisplayPort, a mini DP port and that HDMI 2.0 port.”
“The VP2780-4K delivers all the high-grade features and future-proof connectivity ports a demanding user needs for color critical applications, while ensuring flexible connection to a variety of devices”
“It’s expensive, but the ViewSonic justifies its price in several key areas. It’s got quality that trumps rival screens in almost all departments, a high resolution and plenty of versatility. Those doing normal office work just don’t need to spend so much on a professional screen, but it’s worth the cash if you’re doing colour-sensitive image or video work.”
“Resolution alone does not guarantee a better image; refresh rate is important too, which for 4K is mainly limited by the bandwidth of the video interface. Over HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 the maximum refresh rate is limited to 60Hz, which is better than the 30Hz of HDMI 1.4 but arguably still slow enough that image quality -- particularly on moving images -- is affected. The most recent standard, DisplayPort 1.3, supports 4K at up to 120Hz refresh and may appear in products in 2016.”
“Even if it meets a very specific need thanks to its high definition on a so modest diagonal, the VP2780-4K shows the Viewsonic's expertise in graphic design with a high-standard rendering, a solid frame and beautiful finishes.”
“Beyond the figures, our experience after a few days working with it is that it offers an excellent quality, with crisp, real and deep colours and a smooth and well-defined gradients”Spanish: “Un monitor 4K especialmente indicado para profesionales que no puedan permitirse invertir en pantallas de gama alta.”
