“As far as the build quality and design of the VX2475Smhl-4k go, Viewsonic have created a nice solid product. The stand is sturdy and there is a reasonable level of tilt available. The Controls are within easy reach and the gloss finish looks decent, though we prefer matt as it is less prone to fingerprints etc. It would be good if Viewsonic mounted the inputs so they could be accessed from the side as that is easier however as there are three, it is unlikely that we will have to change cables often.
For the display, well that is a real highlight…with one caveat. Lets get that out of the way first. Basically, fitting 3840×2160 into a 23.6″ display means that out of the box you will likely have tiny text and icons etc. That is easily fixed in the operating system however some OS’s handle text/item scaling much better than others. Additionally there will be the odd occasion where changing scaling causes issues with compatibility. Try to play Starcraft 2 on this screen with “large” set in Windows 8.1 for our desktop items and the mouse pointer doesn’t work until we apply a work-around. (NOTE: This is not an issue with this screen specifically, just something to be aware of on the whole). That aside, the VX2475Smhl-4k produces nice bright, sharp images with excellent viewing angles. We noted accurate colours too with the various picture modes offering a varied experience which will mean there is likely a setting to suit you.
The viewing experience was also flicker free and we had no issues with compatibility, whether we were using a desktop, laptop or phone to connect to the display. Rounding things off, ViewSonic offer a 3-year warranty on the VX2475Smhl-4k which is a nice bonus and wins the display our recommended award.”
