The Taiwan Acts! exhibition, initially held in Munich in 2021, successfully showcased Taiwan's architecture this year in Prague. Through collaboration with us, the exhibition blended cutting-edge display technology with art to present the diverse architectural landscape of Taiwan in an eco-friendly manner, fostering international cultural exchanges.
Curator Professor Chun-Hsiung Wang explained that the exhibition aimed to highlight the uniqueness and social significance of Taiwanese architecture and promote dialogue between architecture and society. Real-world cases, including local symbiosis, urban regeneration, and Taiwan's contribution to international aid, were featured.
Titled "Architecture in social dialogue," this year's exhibition displayed over 100 works ranging from traditional Taiwanese architecture to community regeneration projects. To present the extensive artwork in an immersive and sustainable way, the curators employed digital visual solutions.
Digital posters replaced traditional bulletin boards, while interactive displays allowed visitors to engage with sketches and 3D drafts of the architecture. A 135" LED display and ultra-short-throw projector showcased documentaries, creating an immersive atmosphere.
By embracing digital equipment, the curators reduced their reliance on printing and wooden materials, contributing to sustainability goals. It also facilitated easy replication and transportation of the exhibition, extending its reach to more locations. The digitalization efforts significantly reduced setup time as well.
ViewSonic's General Manager, Clifford Chen, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting the art and exhibition industry with advanced visual solutions. Chen expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations that combine immersive and interactive art curation with eco-friendly practices, addressing industry needs.
