August 20, 2018 – ViewSonic, a leading global provider of visual solution products, announces that it’s 4K UHD projectors ranked No.1 in the Japanese 4K UHD projectors market for the first half of 2018. With its PX727-4K and PX747-4K secured 45.6% market share, according to the 2018 Q2 market report by Futuresource, one of the most powerful specialist research and knowledge-based consulting companies. In addition to Japan, according to the Futuresource 2018 Q2 market report by Futuresource, ViewSonic 4K UHD projectors also ranked No. 1 in the Asian 4K UHD projector market* with 29.6% market share.
“We are delighted that the ViewSonic 4K UHD projectors have gained recognition in Asia Pacific countries, especially Japan” said Adams Lee, President, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions for ViewSonic. "In Japan, as in most Asian countries, the home space is very limited and having an especially dark room for big screen projection could be a challenge. With ViewSonic 4K UHD projectors, the high brightness and UHD resolution will allow consumers to view everything in just about any normal living room, no matter how much ambient light there is. ViewSonic will continue to embrace innovative technologies to offer a wider variety of large-screen viewing experiences at a consumer-ready price point.”
ViewSonic 4K UHD projectors include the PX727-4K and PX747-4K. Both Projectors utilise the latest XPR technology to display a stunning 8.3 million pixels onto your screen, meeting Consumer Technology Association (CTA) standards for 4K UHD certification. With 4K UHD resolution, the most noticeable benefits are the enhanced clarity and increased detail from having four times the resolution of Full HD. The addition of HDR and Rec. 2020 compatibility allows further enhancements to colour and contrast to produce true-to-life pictures.
For entertainment spaces with high ambient lighting, the PX747-4K comes equipped with 3500 ANSI Lumens that deliver a clear, detailed image even in daylight. The projector’s 4K UHD high resolution quality stands out when enjoying movies, sports, and playing games on a big screen.
The PX727-4K projector is the 2200 ANSI Lumens version and has been specifically designed for use in living room cinemas. Colour production on this projector is powered by an RGBRGB colour wheel and achieves 96% coverage of the Rec.709 colour space; the standard colour space for cinematic content.
Both projectors come with dual HDMI ports and HDCP2.2 support, meaning that the latest 4K UHD content can be enjoyed from home entertainment devices such as 4K Blu-ray players and PS4 Pros. Dongles such as Google Chromecast and other TV sticks can be connected through the projectors’ USB ports for streaming media content directly to the big screen. The USB ports also act as a power supply for wireless devices, eliminating the need for external power connection.
